“My daughter was undergoing a series of medical tests that required multiple blood samples to be taken. Unfortunately, she was far too unwell to travel to a medical centre, so our doctor recommended that a Healthcare Practitioner attend our home to carry out the blood draw.

From the moment we made the initial enquiry, the service was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The person I spoke with understood our situation immediately, and we were able to arrange a suitable appointment quickly and with very little stress. This was a huge relief for us, as worried parents, particularly as finding a suitably qualified Healthcare Practitioner had initially been a significant challenge.

The blood samples were sent swiftly by courier to the GLXG laboratory in Germany, which specialises in Lyme disease and other complex testing that is not readily available in the UK. The results subsequently confirmed that my daughter had Lyme disease, specifically Lyme Borrelia, along with a Bartonella co-infection.

At the time, my daughter was almost completely bedridden, and we had previously been told that her symptoms were due to chronic fatigue syndrome. While this had been a very difficult and uncertain period for us, we felt a sense of relief at finally having a more specific understanding of what was causing her illness. Having a diagnosis gave us a clearer direction and, importantly, helped validate that there was more to her illness than the broad and non-specific diagnosis we had previously been given.

Considering the circumstances, my daughter had the best possible experience. The specialist who attended our home was extremely professional, compassionate and empathetic, and made what could have been a very difficult experience as comfortable as possible for her.

Thankfully, since receiving her diagnosis, my daughter has been making a fantastic recovery.
