Independant Healthcare Practitioner

Coleebri Health is a CQC-registered diagnostic and screening service. We take blood in people's homes, in their workplaces, at community events and at our Worthing clinic and as our contracts grow, we're building a bank of experienced phlebotomists we can call on.
The work:

Most visits are single appointments in a patient’s home, workplace or care setting – venepuncture, occasionally a set of observations, sample labelling and handover to our courier or partner laboratory. Some are group sessions: a workplace screening day or a community event where we’ll book several practitioners together.

You’ll be visiting people who chose to be seen at home for a reason. Some are nervous, some are housebound, some are simply busy. The ones we hear about afterwards are always the practitioners who took an extra two minutes.

Essential:
  • Professionally qualified and trained in all aspects of venepuncture, predominantly the Vacutainer system
  • Minimum 2/3 years’ UK phlebotomy experience or 1/2 if difficult settings experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good spoken English
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Your own professional indemnity and public liability insurance –  we can point you in the right direction
  • Current enhanced DBS certificate
  • Safeguarding training to Level 2 or 3 (or willingness to complete it)
Desirable:
  • NHS, Blood Service or GP surgery background
  • Experience of domiciliary visits
  • Experience with children, or with patients who have SEN or additional needs
  • Experience taking observations (BP, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation)
